Another touch is that disgust at the sight of something one would refuse to eat – for instance maggot-ridden meat or something someone else has touched – has been found to be exactly the same reaction as that of moral disgust, rejection of an unacceptable or unjust action by another.9 This connection between disgusting food and unfairness was one that Eisenstein was happy to suggest. By means of juxtapositions, the medium of film has become particularly good at suggesting connections between objects, people, and emotional ideas.
